“Nixes and nibblers”
May and Ursula Aavasalu
Water is the most ancient and mysterious of all the elements. When it can be felt everywhere it does so majestically and when it is unseen and uncanny it has many shapes and states.
Water has many faces. It can be the giver of life, but also a destroyer. Since time immemorial water has been revered and feared, but never has anyone managed without it.
Water is life and water itself is alive. And if you sit too long by a brook staring into it you may see something. Nobody knows if what you see is the past, future or another world… It is certain though that there is life. Who could life beneath the water’s surface?
May and Ursula Aavasalu use clay and fire to make the ocean creatures and beings connected to water visible in all their likely and less likely forms.
